Putin: “Assad ready to work with rebel groups against IS”

Vladimir Putin suggests that the Syrian government could be ready to work with some rebel groups in order to fight against the Islamic State.

Putin says he discussed the issue with the Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, during al-Assad’s visit to Moscow this week.

-He answered positively, says Putin at a press conference in Russia. Adding that the leaders are contemplating it and will try to implement it.

Putin calls for Kurdish groups to join forces with the Syrian and Iraqi governments against IS and Putin also states that Russia is close to exchanging data about militant positions in Syria with the West.
