Two Americans and one South African are among several victims of a shooting at a security-training site near Amman. A man dressed as a police officer suddenly opened fire and killed several people.
At least two Jordanian citizens are confirmed to have died as a result of the attack.
There are conflicting reports as to how many people died in total, with US sources claiming eight people in total have died as a result of the attack, while Jordanian authorities maintain the death toll is six.
US President Barack Obama strongly condemns the attack, pledging a full investigation was on the way.
“The fact that someone dressed in military uniform carried out an attack at a training facility in [Jordan] … we take this very seriously, and we’ll be working closely with the Jordanians to determine exactly what happened,” Obama told reporters at the White House.
