Jordan is reach out to the Russian market in order to promote the Red Sea resort, Aqaba, as an alternative to Sharm al-Sheikh.

The Jordanian Tourism Board (JTB) said that “intensified contacts†were being made with Russian and British tour operations.
Tens of thousands of foreign tourists were stranded after flights were cancelled in Egypt over security fears.
Over 25,000 Russian tourists returned home on more than 100 flights.
