The Paris prosecutor has confirmed that the ringleader of the Paris attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, is dead. He was killed in the raid in Saint Denis in Paris Wednesday.
In a statement Thursday, the prosecutor’s office said that Abaaoud’s body was found in the apartment that was targeted in the raid. It said he was identified based on skin samples.
The 28-year-old Belgian was shot dead by a police sniper as terror suspects fired more than 5000 rounds during the armed stand-off yesterday morning. The confirmation was made after forensics experts went through the wreckage of a flat which was raided involving more than 100 policemen.
The woman who blew herself up was Abaaoud’s cousin Hasna Ait Boulahcen, 26.
