Jaysh al-Islam has announced shooting down an Assad jet fighter near the Assad military airbase of al-Seen in Damascus eastern countryside, activist Hadi al-Munajed said.
The MiG 29 jet fighter was shot downed, and the fate of the crew was not known. However, Jaysh al-Islam affiliated social media accounts said the aircrew was killed in the crash.
The MiG 29 downing came 16 hours after downing the Assad helicopter that was hovering in Ghouta sky Sunday evening by Jaysh al-Islam, a major opposition fighting group in Syria.
