Saudi deputy crown prince heads to Pakistan, japan, China for G20 summit

Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in Pakistan on Sunday, then will embark on a several-nation tour, including China and Japan .

The Saudi royal met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday night and both leaders vowed to improve their relations and promote bilateral cooperation in all fields, according to Alarabiya TV channel.

Sharif said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia “have been great friends and Pakistan will stand with Saudi Arabia in case they face any danger.”

Saudi Deputy Crown Prince started an official visit to China, also on Sunday, at the invitation of Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli, a spokesperson announced Wednesday.

The two sides hosted the first meeting of an intergovernmental joint committee between China and Saudi Arabia during Prince Mohammed’s visit, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang told Petra news agency

Local media said, the prince will also visit Japan from Aug. 31 to Sept. 3, to meet Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Then he will return to China to chair Saudi Arabia’s delegation to the G20 11th economic summit, which will be held from September 4 to 5 in the eastern city of Hangzhou.
