Qatar Emir Meets with UK Prime Minister to Discuss Global Terrorism

Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani meets UK Prime Minister Theresa May on Thursday, discussed a host of regional and international issues, most notably the situation in Syria and the need to lift the blockade and end the sufferings endured by the Syrian people, reported Gulf Times

During the meeting which was attended by members of the Qatari official delegation and some British ministers, the two leaders discussed the issue of terrorism with its serious repercussions and worsening threat to the security and stability of the world, as well as the need to address the causes of this issue at both the regional and international levels.

That the visit was an important step in the development of bilateral relations in various fields.
Qatar’s prime minister said that Britain was looking forward to advancing co-operation between the two countries at various levels.

Meanwhile, Qatar Emir and the UK prime minister discussed bilateral ties and means to further develop these in the fields of education, research, development, economy and investments in addition to the importance of utilising the investment and trade opportunities to cement the relations between the two nations and achieve their common interests.

This meeting is the first for Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani with the UK’s new Prime Minister Theresa May, who replaced David Cameron, who resigned after the UK voted to leave the EU.
