 – France confirmed on Wednesday two of its soldiers had been injured in a drone attack carried out by Daesh in Iraq, reported Anadolu Agency.

Government spokesman Stephane Le Foll told reporters the soldiers were hurt earlier this month near the Iraqi city of Erbil.

Speaking after a cabinet meeting, Le Foll said the two commandos were attacked on Oct. 2.

French daily Le Monde has reported that one of the commandos was seriously injured and was struggling for life.

The French government has sent military specialists and equipment to the region to train peshmerga forces in the fight against Daesh in Iraq.

Having also sent artillery to the region, France organized intense airstrikes against Daesh positions in Iraq, with fighter jets taking off from the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier.
