Palestinian citizen of Israel shot dead in Tel Aviv

A Palestinian was shot dead on the street of Tel Aviv under unclear circumstances Saturday afternoon.

A Palestinian citizen of Israel was shot dead on the street in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv under unclear circumstances Saturday afternoon. The Israeli police said that the motivation behind the shooting appeared to be criminal.

Israeli police spokeswoman Luba al-Samri said in a statement that an “Arab man in his thirties was shot and seriously injured on Jar Zedek Street in Tel Aviv.”

Al-Samri added that the victim was evacuated to Wolfson Hospital where he was announced dead shortly after.

Israeli police spokeswoman identified the victim as Muataz Masri from Jaffa.

She said that the police were investigating the incident, adding that the motivation behind the shooting was most likely “criminal.”
