Algeria’s foreign exchange reserves still above US$ 100 billion

Algeria’s foreign exchange reserves still exceed US$ 100 billion, announced Wednesday the Governor of the Bank of Algiers Mohamed Loukal.

Since late February 2017 and until now, foreign exchange reserves exceed US$ 100 billion, affirmed Loukal while presenting the report on the country’s economic and monetary developments in 2015 and 2016, during a plenary session of the Council of the Nation (Upper House of Parliament) chaired by the Speaker of the Council Abdelkader Bensalah.

The foreign exchange reserves amounted to US$ 144.3 billion in late 2015 and US$ 178.94 billion in late 2014, he recalled.

During the presentation of the same report at the People’s National Assembly (Lower House) in last January, Loukal had announced that foreign exchange reserves hit US$ 114.1 billion late December 2016 against US$ 121.9 billion in late September 2016.
