Algeria Legislative Elections: National community abroad to vote on Saturday

A total of 955,426 voters of the national community abroad are called to go voting as from Saturday to elect their representatives at the People’s National Assembly, as part of the legislative elections of 4 May 2017.

The members of the national community are represented by eight (08) deputies in the Parliament’s Lower House, representing four (04) geographical zones with two deputies in each zone.

On the four established geographical zones, two are in France (zone I in Paris and zone II in Marseille). Zone III includes the diplomatic districts of Maghreb, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Oceania while zone VI is made up of the diplomatic and consular districts of America and the rest of Europe (excluding France).

According to the data of Ministry of Interior and Local Authorities, 61 voting centres and 390 polling stations will be made available to the members of the national community abroad to allow them to vote in the best conditions.

Voting operation for the legislative elections will be held, for the Algerian nationals in France, during three days, Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 April as well as Thursday 4 May from 8.00 a.m. until 7.00 p.m.
