Skytrax Survey: No Egyptian airport among world’s top 100 airports in 2017

No Egyptian airports were among the world’s top 100 airports in 2017, according to a survey for Skytrax, an air transport research company. 

A survey for Skytrax, an air transport research company,has showed that no Egyptian airports made it into the list of the best 100 airports around the world for 2017.

The world’s Top 100 Airports for 2017 were voted for by international air travelers during the 2016/2017 survey period.

It is worth to mention that World Airport Awards are the most prestigious accolades for the airport industry and a global benchmark of airport excellence, known as the Passengers Choice Awards.

After Cairo Airport was ranked 82nd in the world in 2011, it declined by 18 ranks in 2012 to the 100th position.

Since then, Cairo Airport has not been able to regain its position on the Skytrax list.

It had been voted fourth in Africa after the airports of Cape Town, Johannesburg and King Shaka, all in the Republic of South Africa.

According to Skytrax World Airport Awards,Singapore Changi Airport has been named as the World’s Best Airport by air travelers for the fifth consecutive year at the 2017.

Arab airports included in the 100 list were: Hamad Int’l Airport of Doha, Qatar; Dubai International Airport in UAE, Abu Dhabi Airport in UAE; and Bahrain International Airport.
